Jan 23, 2013 by

Google today launched Google Philippines. Aside from opening a Google office in the Philippines, Google also debuted the Google Free Zone in the country, making Philippines the first to have a taste of the Google Free Zone. Google Free Zone allows Google users to use Google Search, Gmail ang Google+ using any internet enabled smartphone for FREE. Too bad, Google Free Zone is limited to Globe Telecoms and Touch Mobile (TM) subscribers for now but we’re hoping that it will be available to all networks soon. I just tried registering for Google Free Zone on my Android Smartphone (emptied my load first just to make sure) and yep, it worked!         To activate Google Free Zone on your phone, just go to     http://g.co/freezone     More about the Google...

NBI Clearance Renewal at Robinson’s OTIS...

Jan 15, 2013 by

Renewed my NBI Clearance last week. Although there are some NBI Clearance Renewal Centers nearer our place I tried renewing my NBI Clearance at Robinson’s OTIS just to check if it is still easier to get an NBI Clearance there. Almost a couple of years ago when NBI automated their systems, most of the NBI Clearance Renewal Centers were filled with applicants, and while some were going to the malls as early as 5am and lining up for more than 4 hours, I had a different experience getting my NBI Clearance at Robinson’s OTIS (Check out my post here ) I went on a Thursday afternoon and arrived at Robinson’s OTIS past 3 PM. Finding a parking slot was such a mess, I got to wait for several minutes and drove in and out of...

Where to get a Nano SIM for your SMART iPhone5?...

Jan 2, 2013 by

Since we cannot have our regular SIM card cut into a Nano SIM, we went to the SMART wireless center to have it replaced. Unfortunately the SMART Wireless Center in SM Mall of Asia doesn’t have an available Nano SIM so (after some minutes of  checking at other wireless centers) they advised us to go to the SMART Wireless Center in SM City Sucat. After beating the holiday traffic, we finally arrived in SM City Sucat. To have our regular SIM card replaced with a Nano SIM, they asked for a valid ID as a requirement. After less than five minutes we already got our Nano SIM (Thanks to Theng for the fast and efficient service ) We waited for another 30 minutes for the activation. The SIM replacement costs Php 40 and you can...

Cheap iPhone 5 Case

Jan 1, 2013 by

Saw these cheap iPhone5 cases at Park Square the other day. My wife didn’t want the leather case with magnet and wanted a case that covers the sides of her iPhone so we bought the pink iPhone 5 case instead. The Pink iPhone5 folding case that we bought is made of a solid rubber and fits well on her iPhone5. My only concern is how well the pieces joining the cover will hold in the long run, but nevertheless it’s a good deal at Php 250 (the original price was Php 300 but I got to haggle Php 50 off )  ...

Can you Convert your Regular SIM to Nano SIM?...

Dec 28, 2012 by

Can you convert your Regular SIM to a Nano SIM? My wife gave me a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 as a gift for my birthday few weeks ago. Just like the iPhone 4s, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 uses a Micro SIM. I’ve been using the same cellphone number for ages and I don’t wan’t to buy a new SIM for my new smartphone. Good thing there’s a way to convert the regular SIM card into a Micro-SIM for your Galaxy Note 2 or iPhone 4s. But that’s not the case for the iPhone5. The iPhone5 uses a Nano SIM and the Nano SIM has a smaller golden microchip circuit than the regular SIM card. SMART Nano SIM for iPhone5 on the left and the Micro SIM (cutted Regular SIM card) on the right So,...
