It was our first doggie run and the experience was really fun. It was nice seeing different breeds of dogs, lots of them, all at the same time.

I was almost tempted to run fast since Piolo looked overly excited and kept on pulling me but I decided to shoot and run in between.

I was happy how Piolo behaved and performed during the run. He was unleashed most of the time and was just following me.

There were a lot of really cute dogs. I was also looking at the large breeds, I hope I can own one in the future.

Pet Express Doggie Run 2012 will be happening on March 24, 2012, Saturday, 5:30 A.M. at the SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City

Race categories are 1.5K, 3K and 5K. Registration Fees are Php 450 and Php 400 (not Php 350 and Php 300 as posted on Pet Express Facebook page)

I was installing Windows XP on a newly bought Lenovo IdeaPad z470 Core i3 laptop last night when I encountered this error. The Windows XP installation will launch and after a while will prompt me with a blue screen with the STOP: 0x0000007B Error.

A Google search led me to this Microsoft link explaining the probable causes and troubleshooting steps of the  STOP: 0x0000007B Error.

I’m ruling out hardware or boot virus issues and think that this might be a configuration related issue. I read a number of forums and they’re pointing out the RAID settings in the BIOS.

I checked out the BIOS settings and on the Configuration, the SATA Mode was set to AHCI. I changed it to IDE  and it fixed my problem.

I called Lenovo Store by Villman at the Mall Of Asia where I bought the laptop first thing in the morning and the technician told me to do the same. Although he didn’t (or couldn’t) explain to me the SATA Mode settings.

It was also kinda funny that the guy I talked to told me that I cannot use the laptop with Windows XP and that it only runs with a Windows 7  (maybe he was pointing out that some features might not work with Windows XP). Last time I checked, you only need drivers to use the hardware/devices (please correct me if I’m wrong).

The package I got was the one without OS installed. Unlike other stores, they did not test or try to install Windows first (then reformat after) even though I asked the sales guy if he can do that. He told me that they don’t do that in their store.

I told him that I’m bringing back the laptop to the store and have them install a Windows 7 (and reformat after) just in case.

I’ve read on some forums about users having a hard time installing Windows XP on their Lenovo IdeaPad z470. I hope I won’t have the same challenges installing the drivers.

There are three pet shops located beside YakiMIX: Pet Pals, Paws Alley Pet Center and Pet Passion Dog Shop. Pet Passion has a bigger shop and more pet supplies and accessories as well as staffs so I checked-in my pup there.

There are a number of dogs in queue before us but they had around five or more staffs grooming the dogs at the same time so it didn’t matter. On some pet shops it usually takes three to four hours before you can claim your pet but they told us that we can claim our dog in two hours. We went to MOA first and came had a stroll. By the time we came back after a couple hours or so, our pup was already groomed.

We still stayed for around ten minutes more and I saw that the groomers really work fast. Quality-wise, I wouldn’t say that it’s better or at par with my usual pet shop though. I saw some obvious cuts on my pet’s face just below the eyes and on the paws (between the fingers) when we got home. Maybe that’s what you get for a cheaper service or let’s just say that maybe the groomer who handled my pup was not as good as my usual groomer, to be fair.

The pet shops at the Hobbies of Asia in Macapagal Boulevard charge Php 300.00 for the grooming.

Will I bring back my pet there? The answer is maybe. But next time I’d choose and instruct the groomer to be more careful. Or maybe I’ll try the other pet shops beside.

This made me cry. My father was also an OFW and spent most of his prime working in the Middle East. On his last work contract, he was abroad for 13 years straight. We were so happy to see him again last year although this was short-lived since he migrated to the US after some months.

To all the OFWs who are working really hard and sacrificing their time apart from their wives, husbands and children to give their family a bright future, Merry, Merry Christmas!!!
