When we arrived, people were already lining up at the ground floor waiting for the elevators.  We just stayed for the program and went to Bonifacio High Street for dinner.  Too bad since the party was just starting when we left. There were still a lot of people at the ground floor on our way out. I just had to update myself about the party on Twitter. Pretty sure everybody enjoyed.

In case you’re always such in a hurry or too busy to notice, these are not LCD or LED screens, these are 3D screens – Glasses-Free 3D screens that is.

We were at Glorietta 5 when I first saw one of these Glasses-Free 3D screens. We passed by one of these and my kid asked me to step on the spot light. The spot light says ‘Stand Here for Glasses Free 3D’, so I did. Surprisingly, the ads were indeed playing in 3D. I was more surprised when I learned that this revolutionary 3D technology is from a Filipino company named 3D Vizion. 3D Vizion uses a proprietary technology to provide advertising companies and brands a revolutionary platform for their products.

Katrina Bantug, President and CEO of 3D Vizion shared that Glasses-Free 3D screens leave such a lasting imprint that studies have shown that it is 10 times more effective more than regular 2D media. Moreover, a US study discovered that when used in a mall, the sales of the brand featured in the glasses-free 3D screen went up at least 12% in addition to the store reporting a 34% increase in consumer traffic. Katrina Bantug also sees Glasses-free 3D as the future not just of advertising but of viewable media, as a whole.

For now, these Glasses Free 3D Screens are available as an advertising tool but we can’t wait for these to roll out for consumers.

I was installing Windows XP on a newly bought Lenovo IdeaPad z470 Core i3 laptop last night when I encountered this error. The Windows XP installation will launch and after a while will prompt me with a blue screen with the STOP: 0x0000007B Error.

A Google search led me to this Microsoft link explaining the probable causes and troubleshooting steps of the  STOP: 0x0000007B Error.

I’m ruling out hardware or boot virus issues and think that this might be a configuration related issue. I read a number of forums and they’re pointing out the RAID settings in the BIOS.

I checked out the BIOS settings and on the Configuration, the SATA Mode was set to AHCI. I changed it to IDE  and it fixed my problem.

I called Lenovo Store by Villman at the Mall Of Asia where I bought the laptop first thing in the morning and the technician told me to do the same. Although he didn’t (or couldn’t) explain to me the SATA Mode settings.

It was also kinda funny that the guy I talked to told me that I cannot use the laptop with Windows XP and that it only runs with a Windows 7  (maybe he was pointing out that some features might not work with Windows XP). Last time I checked, you only need drivers to use the hardware/devices (please correct me if I’m wrong).

The package I got was the one without OS installed. Unlike other stores, they did not test or try to install Windows first (then reformat after) even though I asked the sales guy if he can do that. He told me that they don’t do that in their store.

I told him that I’m bringing back the laptop to the store and have them install a Windows 7 (and reformat after) just in case.

I’ve read on some forums about users having a hard time installing Windows XP on their Lenovo IdeaPad z470. I hope I won’t have the same challenges installing the drivers.
