Almost Gourmet Food Service (ALGO) is a home-based business specializing in meal packs, party trays, salad dressings and frozen goods. Their menu consists of international cuisines ranging from Italian, Japanese to our very own Filipino cuisine. They serve a wide range of clientele and deliver freshly-cooked meals to offices and residences around the metro.

Joyce sent me these four ALGO SOLO Meal Packs: Chicken Alexander, Cheese-Filled Hamburger Steaks, Three Mushroom Penne Pasta and Spinach Salad w/ Peaches & ALGO’s White Cheese Dressing.

Unlike your typical take out foodie, the meals are served in microwavable and reusable containers and are nicely prepared.  The clean preparation mixed with the contrasting colours made the meals really mouthwatering.  I know I’m in for a big fight by just looking at and smelling them. .

First up is the Chicken Alexander. I usually like my chicken either fried or grilled. I was surprised how the sauce complimented well with the chicken and of the four, I found the Chicken Alexander to be the yummiest.

Next is the Cheese Filled Hamburger Steaks. The dish was served with mashed potatoes. Main dishes such as this and the Chicken Alexander are usually served with buttered veggies but you can always choose  whether you want it served with white rice, brown rice, garlic rice or mashed potatoes.

Same with the previous dish, the sauce /gravy in the steaks was just perfect and added just the right flavor, not too salty and not too bland.  The sauce topped with mushrooms, with the meat cooked just right was just fantastic alongside with the veggies and mashed potatoes.

The Three Mushroom Penne Pasta was a pasta with a twist and was a bit new to me. I like my regular pasta with creamy sauce. But still, even though the sauce on this pasta was thin, the combination of flavors made it delicious, best for mushroom lovers.

I really enjoyed the Spinach Salad with Peaches & ALGO’s White Cheese Dressing. The salad was colorful and it had a variety of textures. The flavors were a bit of everything – sour, sweet, salty, bitter without overpowering each other.

All in all, the food were great. What I really loved about ALGO aside from the freshly cooked meals and servings that are reasonable for its price is the variety of delicious and nutritious meals on its menu that are uniquely prepared. It’s like having a restaurant experience in your home and office.

The ALGO SOLO Meal Packs are available for delivery from Monday to Friday. Menu changes every week and orders are placed on a weekly basis via email, text or phone. The following week’s menu is emailed and uploaded on ALGO’s website and Facebook every Wednesday.

Ordering deadlines are as follows:

Saturday 12nn for Mon – Wed
Tuesday 12nn for Thurs – Fri

party food served in disposable aluminum trays.  The menu consists of starters, salads, rice dishes, pastas, mini sandwiches, main dishes and sides.  These trays come in two sizes:  medium (8 to 10 pax) and large (13 to 15 pax).

ALGO COMBO Pasta + Pica

ALGO COMBO Pasta + Pica are meal packs that contain both a starter and a pasta dish.  There are five different combinations for this product. Each combo pack includes a dip for the starter and garlic wheat bread for the pasta.

ALGO SEXY BLENDS Dips & Dressings

ALGO offers a trio of dressings, namely, Zesty Caesar, Honey Sesame and Tangy White Cheese.  Each dressing is in a 150ml bottle. The trio is only PhP 330.
