President Benigno S. Aquino III yesterday led the launch of the “I am for Peace” campaign.

“I am for Peace” is part of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process’ (OPAPP) campaign that seeks to mobilize public support for peace through the involvement of various sectors and known personalities.

Taking part in the campaign are key personalities consist of artists, actors & actresses, musicians, and athletes which will serve as National Peace Ambassadors.

The I am for Peace National Peace Ambassadors includes Anne Curtis, Apl.De.Ap, Ramon Bautista, Derek Ramsey, Karylle, Gerald Anderson, Christian Bautista, Megan Young, Gloc-9, Sam Concepcion, Noel Cabangon, Epy Quizon, Mikael Daez, Kimpoy Feliciano, Datu Khomeini, Ebe Dancel, Rovilson Fernandez, Kiray Igi Boy, Arnold Galang, JC Buendia (and the Fashion Design Council of the Philippines), and the members of the Philippine Azkals.


I AM FOR PEACE is a campaign that seeks to mobilize public support for peace through the involvement of various sectors and known personalities.
I AM FOR PEACE has three key programs to help raise awareness of the comprehensive peace process and support for a culture of peace. They are:

1. NATIONAL PEACE AMBASSADORS – This program involves popular, influential, and eminent personalities from the arts, cinema, music, and sports to become advocates and draw public attention and support for the peace cause.

2. I CHOOSE: PEACE – In partners
hip with the Philippine Football Federation and OPAPP, children aged 8-12 years old in conflict-affected communities are taught about peace and sportsmanship through football. the partnership also includes a Football Caravan which consists of a football clinics to culminate in a National Football Peace Cup.

3. BUSINESS PARTNERS FOR PEACE – Private companies serve as advocates of peace by helping promote the I AM FOR PEACE brand and support conflict-affected communities by extending their CSR programs to benefit them.

The I AM FOR PEACE campaign and its programs affirm that anyone can can contribute to building peace in the country today. So can you.
