i used this service and after they charged my credit card, i received an email saying that my purchase will arrive after more than a month!!!!! this really sucks!!! they should have informed me first. i am trying to cancel my order. customer service is not being very kind and helpful

had a very bad experience with hopshopgo. asked them to deliver it to a US address on August 16 2010 to which they said yes. After all the assurances they made, they informed me today september 6 2010 that they can no longer send it to the US address. They do not reply to any of your emails. They only do action once it is escalated to a manager. Never again!!!!
Interesting concept. Their rates are a bit steep compared to forwarders but for single purchases it might be worth a try.
awww… i just made a purchase yesterday! kinakabahan naman ako, sana wala maging problem. they don’t even have a telephone number, when you need to clarify something, you have to do their “live chat” ang hirap magka-intindihan actually. but i asked them if they can ship my items to a US address, no daw, and wala din sa options naman ang US address, puro international. oh well, i hope it won’t take months before i get my items. (=

Part2:
I spoke to the manager and he arranged delivery to the Philippines thru DHL. Now, Philippine Customs is asking me to pay 2k++ for duties and taxes. The shoes that I purchased is just 23USD. The nightmare is far from over!
NOT WORTH IT IF YOU LIVE IN THE PHILIPPINES. I bought several items with a total weight of 4.5 kilos, I got charged for 7 kilos, paid $90+ for shipping and then I had to pay P1500 ($35) for DHL’s delivery charges (including taxes).
The BuyForMe was nice. I can buy what I want without a US credit card but the shipping charges are highway robbery for me. I’m better off had I used other forwarders but I was tempted by the 2kg free delivery promo. >_< I wish they did not used DHL!
I’m sorry to hear about the bad experiences with hsg but it has convinced me not to sign up with them. I did not expect the delivery charges with DHL to be that high and i thought that that was already covered by hsg. I hope other pinoys will get to read this before signing up with hsg so that they may know about the other expenses involved.
