Jesse M. Robredo
Last Friday, President Noynoy Aquino appointed Jesse M. Robredo as the new Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) secretary.
Jesse M. Robredo was the long-time Mayor of my hometown, Naga City. I grew up under his administration and I have seen how he transformed our city from a third-class city to a first class urban center. Robredo’s skills and competence as a leader and development manager is unquestionable and although handling the DILG may pose new and way bigger challenges, I believe that his more than two decade experience has prepared him more than enough to perform the responsibilities of managing both the local and interior sectors.
