One of the activities during the Lenovo Fun Campaign and Product Launch last May 26-27, 2010 at Clark, Pampanga was the game Dodgeball. Dodgeball is a game in which players try to hit other players with balls and avoid being hit. [wiki ]
Although I remembered playing a similar game in grade school and have seen the movie Dodgeball a couple of times, this is the first time that I actually got the chance to play the game with complete rules, umpire and equipment.

The media was divided into three teams and competed with the celebrity teams and other partner/vendor teams. There was Anthony Suntay’s team, Angelo and Christine Patrimonio’s team (Alvin Patrimonio’s kids), ‘The Dodgers’, composed of some professional dodgeball players, and other teams.

Although the concept of the game was easy to grasp, I got eliminated a number of times because of some violations, e.g. stepping out of line. Sometimes, I would throw the ball a bit high/above the waist and the opponent would just simply catch it (if the opponent caught the ball, then you’re out).
Last woman standing
I am into badminton and lately, into running and I was surprised how this game can also be pretty tiring – all that running, dodging, jumping and throwing worn me out, to think that our team rarely made it to the end of playing time (3 mins) on most sets.

At the end, it was Angelo and Christine Patrimonio’s team who bagged the first place, winning a Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3 netbook each.
