Shrek Forever After
Last night, we finally had the chance to watch Shrek Forever After. My baby kept on asking me to watch the movie since its opening day. We went to Greenbelt last Saturday but even before 7pm, there were no more tickets available.
At first I was thinking that it was only my kid who’s gonna enjoy the movie, thinking that the movie would cater to kids only. I was surprised that aside from being funny and entertaining, the movie was embedded with valuable moral lessons.
True Indeed. Every so often we would complain about our work, our family, our friends, our neighbors, our lives. On how things are becoming routinary and thus sometimes being a bore, dull and sometimes annoying. On most times, no matter what, we just seem discontented and would always ask for more. There are also times when we simply just want to change things.
The truth is, now and then we take things for granted and fail to realize how blessed we are. If we could just appreciate things more and be thankful for all the things that we have – our work, our family, our friends, our neighbors, our lives.
And this is one meaningful lesson that I learned from watching Shrek: ‘You don’t know what you have until it’s gone.’
On the sidenote, if we could only be as affirmative as this kid.

Rather than complaining we should put more effort into appreciating what we have. Direct those negative energies to changing things for the better.
