Anime and Cosplay:
I am not a big fan of anime. But being in IT, most of my friends and the people I work with happen to be one. Sometimes, I am at lost when they start talking about the latest anime series, manga, movies, games and comics. Maybe I just don’t have the luxury of time to go on an anime or game marathon, though I used to just bum out for days in the house finishing movie series before – back when I was still single. 
On some occasions, I happen to pass by the mall and chance upon some Cosplay events. Although most of the participants are teenagers and it seems like they are only playing, I must say that it is not an easy job to prepare for such an event. Imagine the hassles of designing the costumes, the prosthetics, accessories, props, and make-ups, all for the pleasure of emulating their favorite character (and maybe, the prize?). I am always impressed in seeing them sport their colorful outfits and role-play.
The Gosiengfiao sisters:
I don’t know how I happened to be familiar with the Gosiengfiao sisters, must be from hearing their names from time to time on friends or colleagues conversation. Anyway, you don’t need to be a die-hard anime or comic fan to know the Gosiengfiao sisters, especially Alodia. These siblings are active in comic conventions, Cosplays and same events.
Alodia is known as the ‘Cosplay’ queen and has endorsed some video games and appeared in advertisements and videos. She’s very popular in the anime and geek world and she even bagged the 87th spot in the FHM’s 2009 Sexiest Women in the World.
Yesterday, at the SM Cyberzone Cosplay Tour 2, SM Cubao leg, Francis, a former colleague of mine got the chance to see the ‘G sisters’ in person. Yes, a very lucky guy indeed. As envious as I was, all I can do is just to enjoy the photos he uploaded in Facebook and hopefully visit the same event for a chance to see them in the future.
